All the traveling that we have been doing in the past few weeks has given us time to catch up on some of our favorite podcasts. There are quite a few out there so we thought we would share a few of our favorites with you:
INFORMATIONAL & STORY TELLING PODCASTS
This American Life: A weekly public radio program and podcast. Each week they choose a theme and put together different kinds of stories on that theme.
The Moth: Each show starts with a theme, and the storytellers explore it, often in unexpected ways. Since each story is true and every voice authentic, the shows dance between documentary and theater, creating a unique, intimate, and often enlightening experience for the audience.
TRUE CRIME PODCASTS
Canadian True Crime: An independent podcast telling stories of some of the most heinous, controversial, heartbreaking and thought-provoking true crime cases in Canada.
Cold: This podcast is the untold story of Susan Powell, a wife and mother who mysteriously disappears.
JUST FOR FUN PODCASTS
Mortified: Witness adults sharing their most embarrassing childhood artifacts (journals, letters, poems, lyrics, plays, home movies, art) with others, in order to reveal stories about their lives. Hear grown men and women confront their past with tales of their first kiss, first puff, worst prom, fights with mom, life at bible camp, worst hand job, best mall job, and reasons they deserved to marry Jon Bon Jovi. This podcast is funny and sometimes a little disturbing.
Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me: NPR's weekly hour-long quiz program. Each week on the radio you can test your knowledge against some of the best and brightest in the news and entertainment world while figuring out what's real news and what's made up.
MUSIC PODCAST
Tiny Desk: This NPR podcast features your favorite musicians performing at All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen's desk in the NPR office. Hear Wilco, Adele, Passion Pit, Tinariwen, Miguel, The xx and many more.
