Send A Little Love With a Student Care Package

It's done - the fun shopping, frantic packing and tearful goodbyes. Our babies have moved on to University. Now we wait and wait and wait for them to return our calls or texts. They are having fun, meeting new friends and getting settled into their classes. Then one day BOOM homesickness hits them. Many parents help combat homesickness by sending care packages to their students. We thought it would be fun to talk to our empty-nester friends and make a list of ideas for creative care packages. Here's what we came up with:

  1. Socks. How about these soft UGG socks from Victoria's Secret? Or custom socks with your pet's face on them from Alpha Creative Studio on Etsy?

  2. A cozy mug. We love this cheerful Sip & Smile Mug and this berry nice RTIC Travel Mug from Uncommon Goods.

  3. Coffee/ Tea/ Hot Chocolate. Send them some fuel for those late nights or early mornings. You can get little gift sets from your favorite local coffee shop, Tim Horton's or Starbucks.

  4. Snacks. We think this "Hang In There" popcorn/ snack sampler from The Popcorn Factory is genius.

  5. A candle/ reed infuser. Check out these gorgeous Homesick candles and reed diffusers. You can find the perfect scent, location (city or state) or memory.

  6. Lip balm. Our favorite brands are Jack Black and La Neige Lip Masks (they have a gummy bear flavor!).

  7. Last but not least, how about a piece of jewelry from our Hang Ups Lyric Inspired Jewelry line or a piece of word jewelry from our Literacy Jewelry Collection? We also do custom orders for no extra fee.

No matter what you send, you will make your students week with a surprise package from home.

Between the two of us we have a University Junior, Sophomore and Freshman as well as a 10th grader. We spent lots of time with our families this summer and then back to school season hit. We were quiet on social media and sent out fewer newsletters in exchange for family memories. We're back now! As we move into the fall season we are looking forward to new opportunities and shows. If you know of a store, frequented by musicians, that would be a perfect fit for our Instrument Jewelry Collection please let us know or better yet, tell them about us! We have also updated our shops Upcoming Events section to reflect the shows that we have on the books at this point. Here's hoping that in-person shows happen this year!

We hope that you all have a safe and fun-filled Labor Day Weekend!

Shine On,

Kristi and Carolyn
