Quarantine - we're almost a year in. Months and months (and months) later we've moved past Tiger King and we're still social distancing. It's winter and cold outside so it's not all that bad. Here's what we've been listening to, reading and watching. We'd love to hear your suggestions!
PODCASTS
Crime Junkies is my favorite Podcast. Hosted by childhood friends Ashley Flowers and Britt Prawat, Crime Junkies covers mostly unsolved crimes with the hopes of creating awareness.
Stuff You Should Know is for people who have every wondered about anything from how blimps work to the details around herd immunity.Hosts Josh & Chuck are very smart and easy to listen to.
S-Town from Brian Reed of Serial and This American Life. Kristi & I listened to this podcast while on a road trip last year. It's fascinating, well told and a little like a car accident that you can't look away from.
Creative Catch Up with artist and illustrator Natasha Newton. If you are running a creative business or even thinking about it tune in.
READING
From Cradle To Stage by Virginia Handlon Grohl. If you have a musician in your family or if you are curious about your favorite musician's journey as told by his/her mother you will love this book. Written by Dave Grohl's (Foo Fighters) Mom it evokes all the feels.
I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt. Who isn't fascinated by Jimmy Hoffa and the mystery of his disappearance?
Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano. I love a good mystery that involves humor.
WATCHING
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon Prime. This period piece about a strong woman finding her way in the late 1950's is totally deserving of all the awards it has received. There's so much to love!
Virgin River on Netflix. I loved this series by Robyn Carr when I read it years ago. The TV adaptation is beautiful and exactly as I'd imagined.
Barry on HBO Max. This dark comedy is full of twists and turns. The casting and writing is amazing. It is very violent, so if that is not your cup of tea you might want to skip this one.
Yellowstone on Peacock. Kristi is watching this right now and loving every second of it. It's on my list to watch next. I can't wait!
Do you have a favorite podcast, book or binge-worthy TV series? If so we'd love to hear about it. Please share it with us at here.
